HERE Bellaire
HERE Bellaire is the daily guide to a small city with a long memory. Bellaire is 3.6 square miles, about 17,000 people, and a place Houston grew all the way around without ever swallowing. We cover what's open, what's on, where to eat, how the city works (trash day, the water bill, the council, the flood work), the schools, and the homes that gave the town its nickname.

Population 17,206Population 17,202. Incorporated in 1918, a home-rule city since 1949, and surrounded by Houston since the last day of 1948. Nearly nine homes in ten are lived in by their owners, and the median household income is $244,015. A small, settled city inside a very large one: that tension is the place, and the guide is built to hold both.1918Listings start from open map data, public calendars and on-the-ground checks. Some hours and contact fields come from Google Places when a business has no page of its own that we can read, and those listings say so. Civic facts come from the city's own pages and link back to them. We do not scrape reviews. Sponsorships, when they exist, are marked.
Listings start from open map data, public calendars, and on-the-ground checks. Some hours and contact fields are filled from Google Places when a business has no first-party page we can read — those listings say so. We do not scrape Yelp reviews. Taste is the moat. Sponsorships, when they exist, are marked. When a restaurant closes or a shop moves, we keep the page and say so. Deleting it would only send you to a ghost listing on someone else's map.
Claim a listing if we have you wrong. This weekend is the habit.
Some photos are illustrations until we shoot the real thing.
How it's made
We also look past the city line, because life here does. Rice Village, West University, Meyerland and the Galleria are all a short drive, and the guide covers the best of them.
Every listing has a picture and its hours. Every civic fact links to the office it came from. If something is wrong, tell us on any page and we'll fix it.
