Bellaire is a city of homes, and its places to work out fall into two groups. The city supplies the basics, a recreation center and pools, and independent studios supply everything more specific. For a town of 3.6 square miles, Bellaire has a great many places to work up a sweat, and most are specific about what they do.

For a town of 3.6 square miles, Bellaire has a great many places to work up a sweat, and most are specific about what they do. This guide goes from the city's own facilities to the studios, sorted by what you want to do rather than by address. Descriptions come from each studio's own site, and hours are the ones each place lists.
The city's own
The Bellaire Rec Center, 7008 5th St, is the city's recreation center. The city lists its hours as Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. The fitness room has treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, cable machines, benches and dumbbells, and is open to members and their guests aged 16 and older. The center also has half-court open play basketball and three indoor pickleball courts, first come, first served, where players bring their own paddles and balls. The city sells memberships to residents and non-residents and a day pass for visitors, and its recreation page lists the current rates.
The Bellaire Family Aquatic Center, 7001 5th St, is the city's Town Square pool. Outside the summer season the competition pool is open for lap swimming only, and the city lists Monday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday 3 to 6 p.m., subject to change. The therapy pool at Evergreen Park keeps the same hours.
Pilates, rowing and a full gym
Club Pilates, 5103 Bellaire Blvd, lists eight class types at four skill levels and invites newcomers to a free 30-minute intro class. It lists weekday hours from 7 a.m. and weekend hours from 8 a.m.
Longevity Total Fitness, 4950 Terminal St, is a full gym with a reformer Pilates studio. Its site lists reformer classes for all levels, a strength and conditioning boot camp, personal training, nutrition coaching, non-motorized cardio, free weights, kettlebells and a sports-turf lane, along with locker rooms and showers. It lists Monday to Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, and it is closed on Sundays.
Row House, 6702-A Ferris St, is a rowing studio. Its site describes five class types that combine rowing with floor work, including a Full Row of 40 minutes or more, 30-minute express classes, a Restore class for active recovery and high-intensity intervals.
Yoga and stretching
Yoga2gather, 6700 Ferris St, offers hot yoga and barre classes, according to its site, and runs a 200-hour yoga teacher training. It also mentions specialty classes, including Yin and Restorative. It lists two blocks of hours on most days, a morning block starting at 6 a.m. on weekdays and an evening block that runs to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, with the morning block ending at 12:30 p.m. and the evening block starting at 4:30 p.m.
Yoga2gather and StretchLab are on Ferris Street, at 6700 and 6702, and Row House is at 6702-A, so a Ferris Street trip can cover rowing, hot yoga and assisted stretching in one stop.
StretchLab Bellaire, 6702 Ferris St, sells assisted stretching. Its site describes 25 or 50 minute one-on-one sessions with a trained flexologist, and group stretching sessions for various fitness levels. It lists 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
Training and martial arts
Pledge To Fitness - Bellaire, 5312 Bellaire Blvd, is a private personal-training studio. Its site lists one-on-one training in private pods, weight-loss training, nutrition coaching, sports and deep-tissue massage and body scanning. Listings disagree about its Saturday hours, so call before you go.

Its site lists personalized training, self-defense classes, lifestyle consultations, healthy-eating guidance and exercise programs for breast cancer recovery, by appointment, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Its site lists private lessons, group lessons and practice parties, and an introductory offer for new students. It lists noon to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, and is closed on weekends.

Before you go
- Confirm hours with the studio before a first visit, because listings for the same studio sometimes differ. - Ask Club Pilates about its free intro class, since the site offers one to new clients. - Bring your own paddle and ball to the recreation center, because the city's page says players must supply their own. - Book Bellaire Women's Fitness ahead, since its hours are by appointment.
