Guide
Halloween in Bellaire, 2026
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Bellaire, being a small city, spreads it across three weekends and one Thursday. There is a pumpkin patch, a merchant trick-or-treat in Rice Village, a race with a costume contest, and the city's own hunt. Every date and time below comes from the organizer's page.

The Great Pumpkin Hunt
The City of Bellaire's Parks, Recreation, and Facilities department hosts the Great Pumpkin Hunt on Thursday, October 29, and the hunt starts at 4:45 p.m. sharp, which is how the city's page puts it, in capital letters. Costumes are optional. There is music and face painting, and prizes go out by age group: 2 and under, 3 to 4, 5 to 7, and 8 to 10. Put the Great Pumpkin Hunt in the diary first, because it is the one event on this list that the City of Bellaire hosts itself.
The 2026 event page does not name a venue, so ask before you go. The contact is the Bellaire Recreation Center, 7008 Fifth Street. That is where to call, not a stated location for the hunt.
Trick-or-treating on your own street
The City of Bellaire has not published trick-or-treat hours for 2026.
If you want a set time and a set place, the events on this page are the ones that come with both. For anything more informal, the city's Notify Me lists carry news and events by email or phone, and you can sign up at bellairetx.gov.
Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch, October 17 and 18
The Nature Discovery Center, in Russ Pitman Park, holds its annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The address is 7112 Newcastle Street, inside Bellaire.
The festival lists no admission fee. Games are the part that costs money: they require an activity wristband, sold as a Saturday, Sunday or weekend pass. You can buy one online in advance, which has been possible since September 1, or at the ticket tents in the north and south lots. The page lists no refunds. Wagon rides are sold by timed ticket, and the details are on the event page.
Games, crafts and animals are on the program, and food trucks are on the grounds, along with Optimist BBQ on Saturday only. For the current schedule and wristband options, see naturediscoverycenter.org/pumpkin-patch.
Trick or Treat at Rice Village, October 24
Rice Village is the shopping and dining district at Kirby and University, in Houston, and it hosts a family trick-or-treat on Saturday, October 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. Children trick-or-treat at the participating merchants, and you bring your own bag.
Participating merchants mark their doors with window clings, so look for those. The event is run by Rice Village's property management, and the address to give a map app is 2365 University Boulevard, Houston, 77005. Merchant hours in the Village vary, so the trick-or-treat window is the one to plan around.
West U Halloween Dash and Kids Fun Run, October 31
On Halloween morning, Saturday, October 31, West University Place holds its Halloween Dash at the West U Community Center, 6104 Auden. West University Place is the small city next door, and its Parks and Recreation department is the host. King and Spalding, the law firm, sponsors the race.
The schedule runs like this: the 5K, chip timed and USATF certified, starts at 8 a.m.; the one-mile Kids Fun Run at 8:45; and the costume contest at 9:15. Awards follow at 9:30.
Registration prices step up as the day approaches. The early rates end on September 30. From October 1, the 5K is $40 through October 28 and $45 after that, and the Kids Fun Run is $35 through October 28 and $40 after that. Registrations are not refundable or transferable. Packet pickup is on Thursday and Friday, October 29 and 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Higginbotham, 6115 Edloe Street, Suite E. Register through the city's race page at westutx.gov or on RunSignup.
